Bidding A Custom Home With Lauren Homes
Because of the time and expertise involved, we do charge a fee to prepare a detailed proposal. This ensures accuracy, protects your budget, and allows us to fully evaluate your project before construction begins.
Our Bid Process
Step 1: Property & Plan Review
Just like with our custom design process, Fred Price personally visits the property to confirm it’s buildable and to identify any potential site concerns. We’ll review your survey, study the structural plans, and make sure the design aligns with your land.
Step 2: Plan Evaluation & Cost Structuring
Our team carefully reviews your architectural and engineering plans. In some cases, adjustments may be needed to improve efficiency or keep the project within budget. We’ll provide professional guidance to ensure your plans are both buildable and cost-effective.
Step 3: Design Meetings at Our Showroom
Even with existing plans, every home requires selections—flooring, cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, and more. We’ll meet with you in our Del Prado showroom to walk through material options and style choices. These selections are essential for us to prepare an accurate bid.
Step 4: Proposal Preparation
After evaluating your property, reviewing your plans, and holding design sessions, we’ll prepare a solid fixed-price proposal for your project. This bid includes:
- Construction costs based on your plans
- Material and finish selections
- Required land improvements
- Transparent pricing with no hidden surprises
Why We Charge a Proposal Fee
Preparing a true construction bid requires significant time and resources—from structural review to vendor pricing to design meetings. Our proposal fee ensures we can provide you with an accurate, professional, and reliable number you can trust.
